We are from Appalachia. We've watched people we love wait for help that didn’t work, or arrived too late to matter. We've also seen what happens when the right care finally reaches someone, and just how much life is still waiting on the other side.

AppCoLab exists so that reaching effective care stops depending on how far you can drive or how long you can hold on.

Our Mission

AppCoLab is a 501c3 non profit that advances the research, education, and equitable access needed to bring effective mental health and addiction care to Appalachian communities, across established treatments, emerging therapies, and the region's own healing traditions, partnering with universities, health systems, and policymakers to close the gap between what works and the people who need it most.

Our Vision

A future where Appalachian communities can reach the full range of mental health and addiction care, from rooted traditions to emerging therapies, researched and delivered by and for the region.
