OUR WHY

Mission

At the Appalachian Psychedelic Society (APS), we serve as a multifaceted community connector, resource hub, event producer, and trusted source for psychedelic information and news. Rooted in our Appalachian heritage, we recognize the significance of grassroots relationships in reshaping our region and empowering our people.

Our mission is to cultivate a grassroots community united by informed perspectives and empowered education. Through initiatives like our 'Appalachian Psychedelic News' platform and the 'Psychedelic South Conference,' we foster creative dialogue, support career pathways for Appalachians, and provide a platform for their voices to be heard.

As a non-partisan organization, APS embraces inclusivity and respects diverse viewpoints within the psychedelic movement. We recognize and celebrate the plurality of practices, honoring traditional indigenous ceremonies, therapeutic modalities, scientific research, safety/harm reduction models, and personal exploration without promoting any one perspective over another.

Ethics

At the Appalachian Psychedelic Society (APS), we operate as a non-partisan organization, promoting informed discourse and refraining from endorsing specific political stances.

We recognize that obtaining dependable insights into psychedelic cultures and endeavors is indispensable to building meaningful community bridges and facilitating an educated and open exchange of ideas. Our priority is the safety and well-being of our community, advocating for responsible relationships with psychedelic substances and sacred reciprocity. We work to foster environments that promote physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual safety.

Through these principles, we strive to create a supportive and inclusive space where individuals can engage in respectful dialogue, share knowledge, and build connections.
